Foundation

Foundation is the basis for any brilliant agility dog,  training is a bit like a balancing act from ground speed,  control of our dogs, great body awareness & the list goes on. But the most important thing is to have is a good connection with our teammates as agility is all about having fun together as a team.

​

Using predominantly shaping to train during these classes you learn not only foundation skills to create an awesome agility dog but also life skills, relationship building all while just having fun with your pup in a positive group.

You don't need a lot of space for these exercises and most can be done inside.

This will be run from a private Facebook group, you will receive feedback from Katie 

with 4 lessons with each lesson having around 5-6 skills to work on, in total spread out over 8 weeks (new video's every 2 weeks) 

​

Working: $130.00 per dog- with a working spot, you have access to the videos, ask questions, & can upload videos for feedback.
 

Audit: $80.00, you will have access to all videos & can ask questions but will not be able to post videos for personalized feedback.

If paying via Paypal there is an extra $5.00 charge.

Advanced Flatwork

Advanced Flatwork is like taking foundation to the next level, its foundation on steroids. We work on impulse control, cone work, advance focus forward, blind cross & front cross flatwork. 

 

Adding a wing jump to our training and we start to add some basic cues, shaping them and creating a brilliant understanding so when it comes to the more advanced stuff our dogs are equipped with amazing solid skills that will last them a lifetime.

Most of these exercises can be done inside in a small area. Some will require a little more space.

​

This will be run from a private Facebook group, you will receive feedback from both Katie ​

with 4 lessons in total spread out over 8 weeks (new video's every 2 weeks)

Cost:

Working: $130.00 per dog- with a working spot, you have access to the videos, ask questions, & can upload videos for feedback.
 

Audit: $80.00, you will have access to all videos & can ask questions but will not be able to post videos for personalised feedback.

Verbal Cues- Proofing level Only - Open

Verbal Cues is one of our classes we typically would run at Awesome Paws in a 4 week class, so we have moved it online to an 8 week class. 

​​

Many handling systems use some form of verbal cue some more so than others & this is a growing trend now, one thing you can be sure everyone uses verbals, the cue tunnel or Aframe for instance, is a verbal cue, it tells the dog to take the obstacle. We dive even deeper by using more verbals to help cue the path for our dog. This gives them clarity and understanding of where the course will go and how they will need to navigate the obstacle to make sure they are on the right path/course.

We have broken this down into 2 levels

Starters Level
& 

Proofing Level

 

Starters Level- we will explain why we teach verbal cues?

Where do we use them?

& 

Most important - How we teach them! Starters also include an intermediate level of verbal training as well as a basic level.
 

Proofing Level- offers the intermediate level as well as the advanced level to push their understanding and proof those verbals to really have an understanding of where your dog is at.​

This is a fun way to teach our dogs, it helps them build confidence & works on your mechanics so you can learn together.

​

What you need:
1-2 cones or similar (Rubbish bin e.g. -something to wrap) 

2 wing jumps (3 is ideal but you can get away with 2) 
Tunnel for lesson 4 but if you don't have access to one that is fine

Your dog should be familiar & confident with taking a Wing jump 

This will be run from a private Facebook group, you will receive feedback from both Katie ​

with 4 lessons in total spread out over 8 weeks (new video's every 2 weeks) with supporting print outs.

  

For working spots 1 dog per drill and a maximum of 5 min of video per week.
